Introductions
Hi there, I’m Ellie.
I’m just a regular person with big dreams. I aspire one day to be a published author and grow a crochet business. I am a mother to two beautiful children, two angels, and two meow meows. I dabble heavily in all kinds of writing and crocheting but there’s nothing notable about my accomplishments so far. I’m just me.
I have been through a lot in life, from childhood through adulthood, and I feel I have a lot of wisdom to share. I’ve lost a pregnancy to fetal chromosomal abnormalities, had a lot of childhood trauma, as well as faced domestic violence in 2 back-to-back relationships. I have found hope and healing in my children, husband, cats, writing, and crochet.
Crochet
I taught myself crochet during lockdown right after I had my first baby. I, like many people, had a lot of time on my hands. I have gotten pretty good at it, especially making blankets or scarves, but now I want to broaden my skills to pattern making. My plan is to share my pattern making and further crochet journey here with all of you!
Writing
As far as writing goes, I have been in love with it for a long time. I have kept a journal off and on throughout my life, wrote all kinds of stories, expressed emotions through poetry, and even adored writing essays and other factual information in school. I have backburnered the skill for a long time due to people making fun of me or telling me it was a pointless aspiration, but now, I plan to dive back in and take back my happiness I let others take away from me. Here, I will share my writing journey both personally and professionally, my shorts stories, as well as share advice and prompts.
Cats
I wasn’t always a cat person, but you’d never be able to tell with how I birthed my fur children and all (I’m just kidding ;p). My cats have played a pretty big part in my journey of healing so as you can expect, I am very obsessed with them. I will talk to anyone anytime about any cat. There is no such thing as too many cats nor talking too much about cats. The universe runs on cats, I would worship cats if that was socially acceptable. Glad we got that out of the way!
My Family
I met my husband, on tinder of all places, but he turned out to be a perfect match for me. He was everything I didn’t know I needed. I knew very quickly that we were going to be together forever. It was the baby that was unexpected! We had our son and got married soon after. I don’t have a picture perfect family, but they are just perfect for me. Nowadays I spent my life wrangling my two kids, spoiling my cats, and harassing, I mean, loving my husband. We’re a little chaos, but a fun amount.
My Goal
I’m writing this blog for fun, but I do hope that I can help a few people and entertain some too. I appreciate any of you that stick around for the ride, all are welcome here.
